Churches Cup 2026 rules
Teams play 4+1 (four outfield players + goalkeeper), and the maximum squad size is 12 players (both men and women are allowed, starting from age 13).
Up to 24 teams are allowed to participate in the tournament. Half the players from one team must be actively involved in the Church.
• The 24 teams will be drawn into 6 groups (A, B, C, D, E and F).
Each group consists of 4 teams, and each team plays 3 matches in the group stage.
Qualification criteria:

The top 2 teams from each group (total of 12 teams) advance.

In addition, the 4 best third-placed teams advance.

This makes a total of 16 teams progressing to the knockout stage.
Knockout stage
Phases:

Round of 16 (16 teams)

Quarter-finals (8 teams)

A third-place match will be played
In knockout matches, if the game ends in a draw, penalty kicks will decide the winner:

4 penalty takers per team; if still tied,

additional penalty kicks are taken by different players until a winner is decided (based on the team with fewer players).
